Set of 4 “Portex” Stackable Dining Chairs — Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen, 1945

750

Portex stackable dining chairs designed by Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen in 1945 and produced by Fritz Hansen, Denmark. An early and highly functional design that reflects the designers’ interest in rational construction and everyday usability.

Made from beechwood, the chairs show a deep, honest patina built up over decades of use. The surfaces display visible wear that adds character and authenticity. Please note: two chairs show veneer damage on the backrest, and one chair has a small flake-off on the seat — all visible in the photos.

A strong, characterful set with real presence, ideal for collectors or interiors where patina is valued over perfection.

Dimensions (per chair):
W 42 cm × D 42 cm × H 83 cm | Seat height 45 cm
